Amadal is one of the largest locations within the Green Spot Siwa and has been specifically reserved for the Foresteer Tree Donation Program.
The location consists of two separate parcels of land that were acquired and combined into a single project area of approximately 43 hectares (430,000 m²). Unlike some of the other Green Spot locations, Amadal is currently undeveloped land and serves as a blank canvas for one of the most ambitious reforestation projects in Siwa Oasis.
The acquisition of the Amadal land has been funded by private investor Marcel Jong and his company Access2.IT as part of their long-term commitment to developing the first Green Spot in Siwa Oasis.
The local Egyptian company Marcelia Al Salam is responsible for the future implementation, operations, and management of the project.
Amadal has been designated as the primary location for the Foresteer Tree Donation Program.
Every tree donated through Foresteer is intended to be planted within the Amadal project area, contributing directly to the creation of a new forest in the desert.
Current estimates indicate that the project may ultimately support between 40,000 and 50,000 trees, depending on the final design, species selection, water availability, and biodiversity requirements.
The objective is not to create a commercial plantation, but to establish a diverse and resilient forest ecosystem that contributes to environmental restoration, biodiversity enhancement, carbon sequestration, and habitat creation.
The Amadal Forest Project is designed to become a unique forest within Siwa Oasis.
The long-term vision is to establish a highly biodiverse environment consisting of multiple tree species, shrubs, native vegetation, and natural habitats that support wildlife and ecological balance.
Unlike traditional agricultural projects, biodiversity is a central objective of the Amadal project. The design aims to encourage the development of a healthy ecosystem where animals can live and move freely within the forest environment.
As the forest matures, it is expected to provide shelter, shade, habitat, improved soil conditions, increased biodiversity, and a significant green area within the surrounding desert landscape.
Amadal is currently in the Land Phase of development.
The land has been acquired and reserved for the project, but large-scale development activities have not yet started.
Before planting can begin, several important milestones must be completed, including:
Once these foundational activities are completed, large-scale tree planting can begin.
Amadal represents one of the most important long-term projects within Green Spot Siwa.
As tree donations increase and development progresses, the location will gradually transform from open desert land into a thriving forest ecosystem. The project will serve as a practical demonstration of how degraded or unused land can be restored through long-term commitment, ecological design, and community involvement.
The knowledge, experience, and results generated at Amadal will contribute to the future development of Green Spots in other regions around the world.
Every donated tree helps move the Amadal Forest Project one step closer to reality.
By supporting tree planting through Foresteer, donors contribute directly to the creation of a new forest in Siwa Oasis while helping to restore land, increase biodiversity, and create a greener future for generations to come.
